THE VILLAGE CENTER AT A GLANCE

Grayslake Gives:
Grayslake Lions Club

You may be familiar with the Lions Club for their Tootsie Pop Day when Lions members are out on Center Street collecting donations, their annual Pancake Breakfast that takes place each April, or the annual Steer Roast they held previously for over 50 years. Do you know the purpose of Lions fundraising efforts?

The Grayslake Lions Club, part of Lions Club International is one of 49,000 Lions Clubs across the globe. Locally, the Grayslake Lions Club raises money for three scholarships awarded to Grayslake High School seniors each year and helps by making contributions to area organizations such as: Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Grayslake Historical Society, and the Grayslake Park District (GPD) and Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County toward the new GPD inclusive playground at Jones Island. Primarily, Grayslake Lions support the global causes of Lions Club International, helping the visually and hearing impaired, eradicating measles and river blindness worldwide, diabetes, and disaster relief.
