Standing Together for the Girmscheid Family
This year’s event supports the Girmscheid Family, including Tim and Ginny who have lived in Lake County for more than four decades and have seven children. This past July, Ginny was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive stage-4 blood cancer. The disease progressed rapidly, leading to medical emergencies, hospital stays, blood transfusions, and an intense treatment schedule that includes aggressive chemotherapy and supportive therapies. While continuing to work and care for three children at home, the emotional, physical, and financial strain has been overwhelming. The road ahead remains uncertain, but the fight is very real and happening right here among neighbors, friends, and fellow Grayslake families.
