The Annual Grayslake Giving Trees display is coming back to the second floor of the Grayslake Heritage Center & Musuem! Local nonprofits have decorated trees to showcase their mission or this year’s theme: "Vintage." Vote for your favorite tree or just enjoy the festivities. Votes are $1 per ticket and the organization with the most votes keeps the entire profit from their tree. The remaining organizations split the proceeds with the Grayslake Historical Society.

Lake County Folk Club Open Stage

Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.

Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.

The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

Amanda Vicary, psychology professor at Illinois Wesleyan University, will discuss her research on true crime, including why people (especially women!) like it. She'll also talk about some current and fascinating cases in Illinois that she covers in her classes on wrongful convictions--these cases are currently working their way through the court systems so you'll get an up-to-the minute look at the new evidence and can decide for yourselves if the men are truly guilty.

On February 22nd, Grayslake is gonna party like it's 1979, 89, AND 99! Dust off your prom dress, dig that powder blue tux out of the attic, tease your hair, and get ready to dance the night away to your favorite songs. It's all of the fun of prom... plus all of the perks of being a grownup! No need to spike the punch, retro cocktails and snacks will be served.

Retro Prom is hosted by the Grayslake Heritage Center Foundation. The Foundation raises money to support the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum, which is hosting a vintage-themed traveling exhibit called "Growing Up X" through June 2025.

John Primer, Donna Herula, and Friends in Concert

Join the Lake County Folk Club for their December concert featuring John Primer, Donna Herula, and Friends in Concert.

John is a Blues Hall of Fame, legendary artist! He has 3 Grammy nominations as well as played guitar on Pinetop Perkins Grammy award winning CD, Joined at the Hip. He won a Blues Music Award in 2023, 2021 and 2016 for Traditional Blues Male Artist and one for Traditional Blues Album in 2012 with The Chicago Blues, A Living History Band. He has 3 Lifetime Achievement Awards and in 2018 John was given the “Muddy Award” for being a Traditional Blues Icon by the Jus’ Blues Foundation in MS. John is one of the very last traditional blues artists with original Mississippi roots.

John will be joined by LCFC favorites, Donna Herula and Marc Edelstein.
