Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum’s Exhibits
The Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum features multiple exhibition galleries, a community room, archives and collections storage. It also incorporates the original Village Hall, a former one-room school house moved to the site and expanded in 1895.

Hip-Hop Sundays
Join Andy’s Records in the store once a month as they break out the ones and twos for some coffee, beats and vibes. They will spin some of their favorite hip-hop albums over coffee and pastries with the occasional pop-in performance from local DJs or MCs. Free, all ages.

Healthy Kids Running Series Race
Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program offered in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events.
If your child wants to try out a race and not sign up for all five, one-race signs up are available too on the day of each race! Just come by prior to the race start time (3:45 pm) and sign up for $20!

Song Circle at The Lake County Folk Club
The Lake County Folk Club will host their monthly Song Circle beginning at 6:30 pm.
Come out to play or just listen. Members and non-members are always welcome. One of their friendly hosts will keep the ball rolling.
This is a casual, no pressure opportunity to kick back, play some music and meet others. The participants form a circle, and each one in turn can choose to play a song or politely pass. It’s a chance to lead songs or to join in with others. They keep moving around the circle until it’s time to call it a night.

Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
Grayslake will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 26th. The parade will step-off at 9:30 am near the Grayslake Central High School parking lot on Lake Street and travel south on Lake Street to Junior Avenue and east to Memorial Park. The service will be held immediately following the parade.

Tuesday Triva @ Beer Bazaar: Nader’s Favorite Things
Join Beer Bazaar for a special version of General Trivia for owner, Nader’s birthday. Topics will cover things Nader loves: Fantasy, Astronomy, Beer, Giant Robots and more! “Pack the Car” Donation Drive
A local Grayslake college student is holding a “Pack the Car” Donation Drive to help support local families and individuals in need and experiencing homelessness. If you’d like to donate, please bring any of the items listed here to Gelatin Park between 12 pm – 2 pm on Sunday, June 1st.
Your generous contributions will be donated to PADS of Lake County following the event.

Candles & Cannolis
Romney Brown Candle Company is teaming up with Tony’s Cannolis for a one-night-only event: Candles & Cannolis. This sweet collaboration takes place at their shop (170 Center Street, Suite 1) and offers guests a hands-on candle-pouring experience followed by an interactive cannoli-filling demo with fresh creams and toppings.
Each $40 ticket includes all materials to create one custom candle and fill three cannolis, plus a takeaway pastry box. This is a fun and delicious way to support two local small businesses while trying something new in Lake County.
Tickets are only available through their website at romneybrown.com and are final sale. Space is limited.

5th annual Grayslake Pride Parade
Join the community and celebrate love and inclusion at the fifth annual Grayslake Pride Parade hosted by the Better Together Project. This is a family-friendly parade that kicks off at Hawley St and Slusser St continues onto Center St and Seymour Ave and comes to an end back at Slusser.
There’s great viewing spots all around the route! Enjoy music from a local DJ, celebrate the community, and cheer on the participants!

Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

Wilber has had plenty of time to ponder the day dreams and fantastic journeys that wind up in his songs. For 24 years he logged countless hours gazing out the windows of planes, trains, busses and cars while on the road with country/folk icon John Prine.

Pour + Play Bingo Night
This creative midweek experience is perfect for locals and day-trippers alike. Guests will pour their own candle (or make a car diffuser) and then enjoy multiple rounds of bingo with fun prizes, all hosted by our in-house emcee.
This event starts right after the downtown Grayslake Farmers Market and includes access to drinks, upgrades, and scent add-ons. Tickets are required for all guests due to Romney Brown’s beverage license, and each ticket includes one custom candle or diffuser and full bingo participation.
Tickets are $35 and available only at romneybrown.com. No refunds or transfers. Limited seating available.

Save the Date – Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom Walk
Join the Grayslake Area Public Library, Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum, and Community Consolidated School District 46 Board of Education for Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom Walk on Thursday, June 19th from 5 pm - 7 pm.
Begin the event at the Grayslake Area Public Library by viewing a Civil Rights documentary on the Mobile Museum of Tolerance bus, then engage with the library’s collection of Juneteenth materials and dance to music. As you journey on the Freedom Walk through Central Park, hear and read facts, get snacks, and end at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum. While there, you can add your hand print to a community art project, view a pop-up Juneteenth exhibit, and learn from the keynote speaker, Sam Cunningham.

All ages of the community are invited to a morning of coffee and chat in the community room of the Grayslake Heritage Center on Thursday, June 26 at 9 am.
The Grayslake Historical Society encourages you to bring your friends and neighbors to sit and have coffee while discussing events and thoughts of the day. There is no agenda but a local storyteller will be on site to encourage conversation. No registration, just come as you are and join in on conversation.
This is a free offering from the Grayslake Historical Society.

Rupert Wates in Concert at The Lake County Folk Club
Join the Lake County Folk Club on Sunday, May 18th for their monthly acoustic concert featuring Rupert Wates.
Rupert Wates was born in London and studied at Oxford University. He has been a full-time songwriter since the late 1990s when he signed a publishing contract with Eaton Music Limited. In London he worked with some of the best performers in the city. Moving in 2001 to Paris, Wates formed his own quartet and began playing live regularly. In fall 2006 he came to the US. He is now based in New York City and Colorado. Since coming to the US, he has won more than 50 songwriting and performing awards.
Audiences everywhere respond to Wates' brand of melodic art/folk—haunting songs that ring true.

Healthy Kids Running Series Race
Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program offered in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events.
If your child wants to try out a race and not sign up for all five, one-race signs up are available too on the day of each race! Just come by prior to the race start time (3:45 pm) and sign up for $20!

The Friends of the Grayslake Area Public Library Book Sale is back again! This sale takes place bi-annually and features a huge selection of books, CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles! Friends of the Library Book Sale
The Friends of the Grayslake Area Public Library Book Sale is back again! This sale takes place bi-annually and features a huge selection of books, CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles! The Friends also received a donation of 78 vintage books that will be a part of this sale. Check it out at the library on Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th!

Grayslake Greenery Garden Club Annual Plant Sale
The Grayslake Greenery Garden Club will hold their annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 17th from 9 am - 12 pm in the parking lot next to Grayslake Village Hall (southwest corner of Center Street and Seymour Avenue).
At this sale, you’ll find homegrown perennials, annuals, vegetables, and tropical plants from their members’ gardens and gently used garden items.
