Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum’s Exhibits
The Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum features multiple exhibition galleries, a community room, archives and collections storage. It also incorporates the original Village Hall, a former one-room school house moved to the site and expanded in 1895.

Mini Masterpieces
Come be a part of the Grayslake Area Public Library’s miniature art show! Canvases will be available on a first-come, first-served basis starting on March 1st. If you don't want to paint alone, drop in for a paint and sip night on Friday, March 7th, from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm. All returned artworks will be displayed in their tiny art gallery for community members to admire and enjoy. This year’s theme is Nature. Learn more.

Community Art Fair
A variety of art will be displayed throughout the Grayslake Area Public Library from Grayslake Community School Districts 46 and 127, Westlake Christian Academy and Saint Gilbert School. The Grayslake Arts Alliance will also showcase their art. Come see the wide array of art during library hours all month long!

Vinyl Sundays @ Beer Bazaar
Beer Bazaar is hosting their weekly Vinyl Sundays with their staff spinning records for your enjoyment. Come hang with some friends while drinking a cold one. When you bring a vinyl to listen to, you’ll get a $1 off any size pour!

Hip-Hop Sundays
Join Andy’s Records in the store once a month as they break out the ones and twos for some coffee, beats and vibes. They will spin some of their favorite hip-hop albums over coffee and pastries with the occasional pop-in performance from local DJs or MCs. Free, all ages.

Song Circle at The Lake County Folk Club
The Lake County Folk Club will host their monthly Song Circle beginning at 6:30 pm.
Come out to play or just listen. Members and non-members are always welcome. One of their friendly hosts will keep the ball rolling.
This is a casual, no pressure opportunity to kick back, play some music and meet others. The participants form a circle, and each one in turn can choose to play a song or politely pass. It’s a chance to lead songs or to join in with others. They keep moving around the circle until it’s time to call it a night.

The Grayslake Heritage Center & Musuem is offering up another day of retro game play on March 28th.
Anytime between 12 pm - 4 pm, they invite you to kick back on a vintage couch to play a few rounds of Super Mario Bros. and Pac-Man or grab friends for Trivial Pursuit, Girl Talk, or Mind the Gap.
Also, stop by Andy's Records on 16 N Whitney Street and tell them you're there to play ... Gen X style. They'll show you how a record player works and might even let you play a few rounds on their Pac-Man arcade!
The “Growing Up X” exhibition is organized by the Illinois State Museum and sponsored, in part, by the Illinois State Museum Society.

St. Baldrick's Fundraiser Event @ GMS
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and is made up of dedicated volunteers and donors. Since 2000, St. Baldrick's has hosted nearly 4,200 head-shaving events and shaved over 190,500 heads, raising over $118 million for life-saving childhood cancer research.
Did you know that our own Grayslake Middle School is a frequent event host for St. Baldrick's?!
On Friday, April 4th from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm, GMS will be hosting its 10th Annual Grayslake Community St. Baldrick’s Event open to the community.
The event will include the St. Baldrick’s Cut & Shave Event and Blood Drive - all from 2 pm - 6 pm.

Star Trek Day
April 5th is First Contact Day to millions of Trekkies around the world and the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum is jumping on that starship with Star Trek Day!
This is a hybrid event. Join them in person or online (link to follow) with sociology professors and authors, John & Maria Jose Tenuto, to revisit the making of 1982 iconic film “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.”
Many rare and newly discovered photographs paint the incredible picture of a company of actors and artists whose talents combined to create one of science fiction’s most critically acclaimed films. The presentation will share trivia and little-known facts about the making of the film and how it was made despite limitations of budget, time, and technology.

Girls Trip Movie Night at Romney Brown Candle Co.
Get ready for a wild and hilarious girls’ night out at Girls Trip Movie Night at Romney Brown Candle Co. Bring your best friends for a night filled with laughter, fun, and creativity as we screen the hit comedy Girls Trip.
This event includes a custom candle-making experience, where guests will create a candle inspired by the film, complete with a unique topper and label. After crafting their candle, attendees can enjoy pizza and drinks while watching Girls Trip, starring Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish.

Andy’s Records Live with Ghost Cuts and Mourning Star
Andy’s Records “Live from Andy’s” series continues with an in-store performance from Milwaukee indie-rockers Ghost Cuts with support from Mourning Star!
As always, all shows are FREE and ALL AGES. Doors at 6 pm; music at 6:30 pm.

Bunny Bar Hop
It’s time for the 13th Annual Bunny Bar Hop! Join in for a night of fun while helping give children a special Easter!
Hop your way around Village Center bars/restaurants on Saturday, April 5th. Bring Easter Basket donation items to each stop (crayons, coloring books, bubbles, etc.). Get a stamp on your passport for each location you visit (no particular order). Turn in your passport once each location is visited for a chance to win awesome prizes!
All Easter basket items will be used to put together Easter baskets that will be donated to the children of A Safe Place Women’s Shelter.

Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

Healthy Kids Running Series Race
Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program offered in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events.
If your child wants to try out a race and not sign up for all five, one-race signs up are available too on the day of each race! Just come by prior to the race start time (3:45 pm) and sign up for $20!

Lake County Folk Club Open Stage
Join the Lake County Folk Club for Open Stage. Sign up begins at 6 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm.
Anyone who would like to perform is encouraged to do so. Non-performing listeners are always encouraged, and will be pleasantly surprised with the diverse musical styles represented.
The first 12 performers get to do two songs (no more than ten minutes total). After the 1st 12, they will fit in as many one-song performers as time allows. Things get wrapped up at 8:30. Suggested donation is $3.

Song Circle at The Lake County Folk Club
The Lake County Folk Club will host their monthly Song Circle beginning at 6:30 pm.
Come out to play or just listen. Members and non-members are always welcome. One of their friendly hosts will keep the ball rolling.
This is a casual, no pressure opportunity to kick back, play some music and meet others. The participants form a circle, and each one in turn can choose to play a song or politely pass. It’s a chance to lead songs or to join in with others. They keep moving around the circle until it’s time to call it a night.

Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
Grayslake will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 26th. The parade will step-off at 9:30 am near the Grayslake Central High School parking lot on Lake Street and travel south on Lake Street to Junior Avenue and east to Memorial Park. The service will be held immediately following the parade.

Erasure Poetry Workshop
The Voices of Lake County presents an Erasure Poetry Workshop in partnership with the Grayslake Arts Alliance Writers’ Group. Erasure poetry is a poetic form in which a poet erases or blacks out words from a preexisting source to create new poems. Some erasure poems include visual designs such as illustrations, collage or painting.
This workshop is FREE and open to the public.
Create your own nature-based erasure poem & display it in a special gallery exhibit at College of Lake County on April 10!

Andy’s Records Vinyl Listening Club
Each month, Andy’s Records gathers to listen to and dissect a selected vinyl album with a group of like-minded music lovers over snacks and drinks (BYOB). They encourage you to listen in any way you can ahead of the meeting and be prepared to participate in a casual discussion about the album.
