The Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum features various exhibits including the following:
Embracing Change: The Growth of Grayslake, created in partnership between the Grayslake Historical Society, the Village of Grayslake and Taylor Studios, Inc. This engaging, family-friendly exhibition provides a detailed look at how our community has grown and changed over time through rare images and artifacts, stunning graphics and innovative interactives highlighting distinctive Grayslake scents of yesterday.
Growing Up X is an award-winning exhibit on loan from the Illinois State Museum that showcases everyday items and the defining moments familiar to anyone who grew up in the 1970s, 80s, or 90s. Step back in time with Care Bears, Star Wars toys, scrunchies, mix tapes, an original NES, a Blockbuster video, and oh so much wood paneling.
Grayslake Giving Trees. The Annual Grayslake Giving Trees display is back! Local nonprofits have decorated trees to showcase their mission or this year’s theme: "Vintage." Vote for your favorite tree or just enjoy the festivities. Votes are $1 per ticket and the organization with the most votes keeps the entire profit from their tree. The remaining organizations split the proceeds with the Grayslake Historical Society. The exhibit will remain open through the end of the calendar year.
