Gen X is rocking Grayslake at the “Growing Up X” exhibit opening on Saturday, July 13! The Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum and the Grayslake Historical Society encourage you to don your best Gen X attire and represent!

On loan from the Illinois State Museum, this award-winning exhibit will fill you with nostalgia for the super rad toys, cutting-edge computers (complete with dialup), and other cultural touchstones that defined being a kid in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.

Get your big hair on and grab your fanny packs because it’s going to be a rocking good time.

The “Growing Up X” exhibition is organized by the Illinois State Museum and sponsored, in part, by the Illinois State Museum Society.

The MTV generation is making waves in the “Growing Up X” award-winning exhibit on loan from the Illinois State Museum. Step into our wood-paneled rec room, have a seat on the brown floral sofa, play a round of Duck Hunt… and visit what it was like to grow up in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. Wind up the tapes this summer at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum for a radical Gen X experience. “Growing Up X” will open at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum on July 13.
