The Lake County Area Computer Enthusiasts (LCACE) will hold an in-person meeting on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Grayslake Heritage Center focused on “Free Software and Open-Source Software (FOSS) and Alternatives to Free Software” by Lester Larkins.
This meeting will be done in a hybrid format: in-person or Zoom.
November 9th Agenda includes:
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Help Desk: Free one-on-one help for anyone with their computer, phone, or tablet.
12:00 to 12:30 PM: Business Meeting (also Zoom). Anyone is invited to join the meeting.
1:00 pm: Free Software and Open-Source Software (FOSS) and Alternatives to Free Software presented by Lester Larkins.

LCACE is a nonprofit educational organization founded in 1983; Lake County Area Computer Enthusiasts (LCACE) promotes computer literacy among users of all computers. The group provides an opportunity to mingle with computer users of all levels- novice, hobbyist, and professional.
From LCACE: Come to the meeting. Like the rest of us, you will almost certainly learn something, and you can become part of this "Members Helping Members Helping Learn Technology" group. Membership in LCACE is open to anyone with an interest in computing, from novice to expert. There are neither age limitations nor geographic restrictions for membership. The only requirement is a genuine interest in new technology and computers.
