The Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum book club and lecture series is back by popular demand! Partnering with the Grayslake Historical Society and the Grayslake Area Public Library, three books have been chosen to highlight various elements of our regional history. Rebranded as “Pages of History” they go beyond the book to explore local history through classic and best-selling books. Each lecture will be presented by Illinois historians and will not be based exclusively on the book, but rather the context and time period surrounding each book.
They begin with “A Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry.

Books will be available for pick up at the library upon registration.
Then join them on February 27th at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum where Dr. Brittney Yancy will give a presentation on Lorraine Hansberry’s life and what growing up in Chicago as a Black woman meant for her and her family.
