The 3rd Annual AuthorFest returns on Saturday, June 21st! This FREE event takes place inside the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum and outside along Hawley Street. Founded by local writers from Lake and McHenry counties and supported by groups and individuals throughout Grayslake, Illinois, the third annual Grayslake AuthorFest is an event you'll want to add to your calendars!
Here you’ll find over four-dozen authors, have the chance to participate in activities such as attending author panels, workshops, open mic poetry, and more! This Old Book also hosts a Youth Creative Writing Contest for age groups beginning as young as age 4 up to age 18.
The Grayslake Arts Alliance will have an Artist Trading Cards creation station and all ages are welcome to create an artist trading card to trade or keep. Create your own leather bookmark with step by step guidance from GAA member Sam the Jam Artist. Both activities are FREE and all supplies will be provided.
Grayslake Arts Alliance members will also be offering published books from their member authors and a wide array of bookish art including handmade art, bookmarks, greeting cards and more from their artist members!
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
*The first 200 people in attendance receive swag bags. Bags donated by the Grayslake Village Center.
