Join the Grayslake Area Public Library, Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum, and Community Consolidated School District 46 Board of Education for Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom Walk on Thursday, June 19th from 5 pm - 7 pm.
Begin the event at the Grayslake Area Public Library by viewing a Civil Rights documentary on the Mobile Museum of Tolerance bus, then engage with the library’s collection of Juneteenth materials and dance to music. As you journey on the Freedom Walk through Central Park, hear and read facts, get snacks, and end at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum. While there, you can add your hand print to a community art project, view a pop-up Juneteenth exhibit, and learn from the keynote speaker, Sam Cunningham.
